A. First-Phase Admission Process

• (1)Screening of documents
  • (A) Evaluation of basic learning ability of relevant subject (major) based on the transcripts from entire college years and thesis proposal (current students are, in principle, required to submit the transcripts including the grades from the final semester completed as of the application deadline)
  • (B) Evaluation of documents for doctoral programs shall focus on assessment of basic learning ability of relevant subject (major) based on the transcripts of years in undergraduate and graduate schools, thesis proposal and research achievements.
• (2)English Test: One of the following English requirements must be satisfied (Any score card unsatisfactory with the standards shall not be accepted, which shall be deemed as insufficient application documents).
  • Must score 550 points or higher from POSTECH TIP
  • Qualification for certified English score must be satisfied.

B. Second-Phase Admission Process

• (1)Interview or Tests on Major Subjects
  • (A) Comprehensive evaluation of basic knowledge concerning the major field, passions for study and academic aptitude through individual interview process
  • (B) Oral examination on the major field shall be conducted for the doctoral program.
• (2)Assessment on Dissertation
  • It shall be conducted on the doctoral program, followed by summary presentation and evaluation of master’s thesis and research papers.

C. Miscellaneous

• When an applicant is found inadequate to be selected for either Integrated Master/Doctoral Program or Doctoral Program, the applicant may be selected for relevant Master’s Program or Integrated Master/Doctoral Program, respectively.
• When an applicant is accepted from the admission process of this graduate school, the applicant shall be not allowed to apply again for the same academic year.
• Application shall not be submitted for a degree program or department (major) within the same admission process.
• Conditions for re-application during the same academic year: In cases where an applicant waives enrollment for the following admission process or was rejected from the initial admission process applied, the applicant shall be allowed to apply during the following admission process after changing the applying department (Re-application for the same department shall be permitted).
